چکیده
Background: Xanthogranuloma of the sellar region is an extremely rare benign entity with only case reports and series documented in literature. We aim to describe this report a suprasellar xanthogranuloma that was diagnosed initially as cystic craniopharyngioma. Case Description: A 28-year-old woman presented clinic 2-week history headaches, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting. She had no medical or surgical history, signs hormonal disturbances, family brain tumors endocrine diseases. Her neurological examination unremarkable except for bitemporal hemianopia on visual field testing. magnetic resonance imaging showed mass compressing optic chiasm radiological features representing underwent endoscopic transnasal transsphenoidal surgery excise mass, subtotal excision achieved preserve pituitary function. The histopathology confirmed diagnosis region. postoperative course unremarkable, she did not receive any adjuvant therapy. There recurrence clinical symptoms during 18-month follow-up period. Conclusion: Although uncommon, it should be included differential sellar/suprasellar lesions. Due its wide range sometimes can mimic other lesions, definitive made postoperatively. Surgical most accepted treatment favorable prognosis low rates recurrence.

Suprasellar Hemangioblastoma Mimicking a Craniopharyngioma: Result of Extended Endoscopic Transsphenoidal Approach—Case Report
Hemangioblastoma in the suprasellar region is rare. We present a case of a suprasellar hemangioblastoma that underwent surgical resection using an extended endoscopic transsphenoidal approach. A 64-year-old female patient presented with headache and decreased visual acuity for the last four years, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a 2.5 cm irregular lesion i...
متن کاملSuprasellar Anaplastic Meningioma Masquerading As Craniopharyngioma: A Case Report
Anaplasia is defined by morphologic features of frank malignancy exceeding those present in atypical meningioma. Those features include obvious malignant cytomorphology (resembling carcinoma, melanoma or sarcoma), or a high mitotic index with more than 20 mitoses per 10 high-power fields [1]. Anaplastic meningiomas exhibit an aggressive clinical course including rapid growth, local recurrence, ...
متن کاملInfrasellar craniopharyngioma mimicking a clival chordoma: a case report.
An unusual case of entirely infrasellar craniopharyngioma mimicking a clival chordoma is described. Only 22 cases of craniopharyngioma with nasopharyngeal extension have been reported in the literature. Of the reported cases, most were primarily intracranial with secondary downward extension; only two were thought to originate from an infrasellar location. The present case is another example of...
متن کاملXanthogranuloma of the External Auditory Canal Mimicking a Benign Tumor: A Case Report
Exostosis, osteoma, and adenoma are the most commonly encountered benign lesions in the external auditory canal. Herein, we report a case of the mass arising from the external auditory canal in a 24-year-old Japanese man. CT revealed the soft tissue mass without bony erosion, and MRI revealed that the mass showed a homogenous, iso signal intensity on a both T1- and T2-weighted image, suggesting...
متن کاملPituitary Chondrosarcoma presenting as a sellar and suprasellar mass with parasellar extension: An Unusual presentation
Chondrosarcoma is a mesenchymal tumor composed of tumor cells producing cartilage. It is more common in older age and often affects the axial skeleton. We report a rare case of chondrosarcoma mimicking a sellar and suprasellar mass with parasellar extension. A 40 yr woman presented with decreasing visual acuity and headache. Magnetic resonance (MR) image revealed a cystic sellar and suprasellar...
